Careful here folks if your looking to buy a 4 X 4 to tow a caravan, tell you any old rubbish to make a sale and you could easily find that the your breaking the law and the vehicle you've bought is useless for the job.RAC advice If the mass of the caravan is 85% or less of the cars kerbweight, the car will tow it with ease.If its between 85% and 100%, be careful only experienced caravanners should use that car to tow such a heavy van.But if the caravan is heavier than the car, that car must not be used as a towing vehicle. This calculation is known by experts as outfit matching.Many confusing figures, acronyms and formulas are bandied about when people talk cars and caravan towing capacity. ,Basically and as I understand it, if the towing vehicle weighs a ton and a half and the caravan two tons yer knackered!Finnie's insist all 4 X 4 can tow 3,7 tons and insists his expertise comes from his claim to sell 4 X 4 every day but best of all is advise when you question that expertise, sling yer hook well Mr Finnie after the rubbish you were trying to feed me with the greatest of pleasure! Arrogant and rude, what a great shame the least amount of stars we can give are one, one too many and I'd advise all to avoid this would be dealer.
